Since 1979, October Gallery has exhibited work by artists from around the planet, promoting the emergence of the Transvangarde, a vanguard of transnational artists exploring their diverse cultural traditions in a contemporary context before a widening global audience. Dream No Small Dream celebrates the first 40 years of a remarkable journey undertaken with a raft of artists that included: Gerald Wilde, Aubrey Williams, Wijdan, Kenji Yoshida, El Anatsui, Rachid Koraichi, Laila Shawa, Romuald Hazoume, and many more besides.

The story is told for the first time, using text and images, of the Gallery, people and ideas behind this ongoing experiment in the visual arts.
